About the Job
The company is recruiting an IT Officer to manage and maintain the school's computers, internet connection, software, and other technology systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Hardware troubleshooting: Fixing broken or malfunctioning devices like computers, printers, and classroom projectors to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Network administration: Ensuring a fast, stable internet connection, reliable Wi-Fi, and secure internal communication across the school.
- Software maintenance: Installing necessary programs and keeping operating systems and antivirus software up-to-date to prevent security threats.
- Data security and backups: Safeguarding sensitive school files and student records by creating regular, secure backup copies against data loss.
- Technical support: Assisting teachers, students, and other staff members whenever they encounter day-to-day tech problems or software glitches.
- Platform management: Keeping the school’s digital learning portals, virtual classrooms, and administrative database systems running properly.
- Asset and license management: Keeping a clear inventory of all school tech equipment and ensuring software licenses are active and accounted for.
- AV setup: Preparing speakers, microphones, displays, and projectors for classes, school events, and staff meetings.
- Staff training: Guiding educators and school employees on how to use computers, applications, and digital tools effectively.
Requirements
To qualify, you must have:
Education: B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years of relevant IT support or systems administration experience.
Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Understanding of computer networking, Wi-Fi, and internet security.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, data backup, and data protection.
IT certifications and experience with school management software are additional advantages.
